Selling a car after the owner has passed away can be a challenging task, and we understand that. We aim to make the process as stress-free as possible during this difficult time.
Once you have accepted the online valuation for the vehicle, a member of our team will contact you to arrange an appointment for a vehicle inspection. During this call, we will inquire about the vehicle’s ownership, and you should inform us that the owner is deceased.
We will then arrange a suitable appointment time and location, and request that you bring the following documents to the inspection:
• The death certificate of the vehicle owner.
• Legal proof of your entitlement to sell the vehicle on behalf of the deceased’s Estate. This may be included in the will where you are named, or in a solicitor’s letter indicating your entitlement to deal with the proceeds of the Estate. You may be designated as an executor of the will, or there may be other legal proofs that establish your entitlement to sell the vehicle. If there is more than one executor of the will, all named executors must be present at the time of sale before any agreed payment is made. All named executors will be required to provide personal identification proof.
